October is the point in the season where the calendar gets crowded. A short international stretch comes first, then four straight Premier League matchweeks with nothing in between. If you are opening a Bet9ja account this month, the promotion code is YOHAIG.

What the YOHAIG code actually does

The promo field sits on the Bet9ja registration form and most people scroll straight past it. Type YOHAIG into that box and the account is flagged for the welcome offer, worth up to ₦100,000 depending on your first deposit. It is a one-time box, because the code will not attach to an account that already exists.

Nothing is charged for the code. It applies to new accounts only, and the bonus carries rollover conditions like every welcome offer in the Nigerian market. Read them on the promo page before you fund the account.

Register with promotion code YOHAIG for up to ₦100,000 as a welcome bonus.

The first week belongs to the national teams

The UEFA Nations League runs its third and fourth rounds between the 1st and the 6th of October, so the opening week is international football only. Nigeria close their own window with a friendly away to Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday 6 October. A kick-off time had not been published when this was written, so check it on the day rather than assuming.

The club season returns on 10 October

Club football restarts on Saturday 10 October. Arsenal versus Leeds United opens it at lunchtime, Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur later that day, and Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield on the Sunday. A week later you get Everton versus Chelsea, Newcastle United against Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest hosting Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Friday 23 October opens the next round with Ipswich Town against Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea versus Tottenham Hotspur headlines the Saturday. The month closes on Saturday 31 October with Chelsea against Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa hosting Fulham under the lights.

Worth noting: Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty on all but one of their 115 charges. What the punishment looks like was still unknown at the time of writing. Any sanction announced mid-season would shift the outright markets sharply, so check the latest before committing to a season-long position.

The clock change nobody plans for

British clocks go back on Sunday 25 October and Nigeria does not move. Through to the 24th the two clocks match exactly. From the 25th you add an hour, so a 15:00 English kick-off is 16:00 Nigerian time.

Practical notes for October

•

• Enter the code at registration, not after. YOHAIG only works on the way in.

• Fix your October budget before the first matchweek lands. Four matchweeks with no break is a long stretch to stay disciplined.
