October is where the fixture list stops being polite. A short international stretch comes first, then four straight Premier League matchweeks with nothing in between. If you plan to register with Bet9ja in October, the code you want is YOHAIG.

What you get for entering the code

There is a promo field on the Bet9ja sign-up form, and plenty of new users leave it blank. Put YOHAIG in the field and the account picks up the welcome offer, which runs to a maximum of ₦100,000 based on what you deposit first. There is no way to apply it later, which is why the field matters at sign-up.

The code costs nothing to use. It works on new registrations only, and there are rollover terms attached, as there are on every offer of this kind. Check those terms before your first deposit, not after it clears.

Register with promotion code YOHAIG for up to ₦100,000 welcome bonus.

Nigeria in Russia to finish the break

Nations League matchdays three and four fall between 1 and 6 October, which means no club football in the first week. Nigeria travel to the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium to face Russia in a friendly on Tuesday 6 October. No kick-off time was confirmed at the time of writing, so look it up before you build anything.

What the Premier League gives you this month

The clubs are back from Saturday 10 October. Arsenal host Leeds United in the lunchtime slot, Manchester United meet Tottenham Hotspur that evening, and Liverpool against Manchester City follows at Anfield on the Sunday afternoon. A week later you get Everton versus Chelsea, Newcastle United against Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest hosting Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Friday 23 October opens the next round with Ipswich Town against Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea versus Tottenham Hotspur headlines the Saturday. October finishes on Saturday 31st, Chelsea versus Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa against Fulham in the evening.

One thing hanging over the month: Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty on almost all of the 115 charges brought against them. No sanction had been confirmed when this was written. Any sanction announced mid-season would shift the outright markets sharply, so check the latest before committing to a season-long position.

Why kick-off times move on 25 October

UK clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, and Nigeria stays put. Up to Saturday the 24th, a kick-off listed in UK time is the same clock time in Lagos. From the 25th you add an hour, so a 15:00 English kick-off is 16:00 Nigerian time.

How to approach a month this full

•

• Enter the code at registration, not after. YOHAIG only works on the way in.

• Decide what the whole month costs you before 10 October. A month with no pause in it is where discipline slips.
