October is the month the season stops easing in and starts stacking up. The month starts with countries, and once that window shuts the Premier League runs four matchweeks without pausing. If you are opening a Bet9ja account this month, the promotion code is YOHAIG.

What you get for entering the code

There is a promo field on the Bet9ja sign-up form, and plenty of new users leave it blank. Put YOHAIG in the field and the account picks up the welcome offer, which runs to a maximum of ₦100,000 based on what you deposit first. The code cannot be added afterwards, so the field only works on the way in.

The code itself is free. New customers only, and the bonus comes with wagering conditions, which is standard across the market. Check those terms before your first deposit, not after it clears.

Sign up with the YOHAIG promotion code to claim up to ₦100,000 welcome bonus.

Nigeria in Russia to finish the break

Nations League matchdays three and four fall between 1 and 6 October, which means no club football in the first week. Nigeria close their own window with a friendly away to Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday 6 October. The kick-off time was still unannounced when this went up, so confirm it before you stake.

What the Premier League gives you this month

The clubs are back from Saturday 10 October. Arsenal versus Leeds United opens it at lunchtime, Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur later that day, and Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield on the Sunday. The 17th and 18th give you Everton against Chelsea, Newcastle United versus Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest against Arsenal.

Friday 23 October opens the next round with Ipswich Town against Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea versus Tottenham Hotspur headlines the Saturday. The month closes on Saturday 31 October with Chelsea against Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa hosting Fulham under the lights.

One thing hanging over the month: Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty on almost all of the 115 charges brought against them. No sanction had been confirmed when this was written. Should a points deduction follow, the outright markets reprice immediately, so read the news before backing anything long-term.

The clock change nobody plans for

British clocks go back on Sunday 25 October and Nigeria does not move. Until Saturday the 24th, UK and Nigerian kick-off times read identically. After that Sunday you add sixty minutes, which makes a 15:00 English kick-off a 16:00 start here.

How to approach a month this full

•

• Put the code in during sign-up, because it cannot be added later. The code only applies to a new account.

• Fix your October budget before the first matchweek lands. A month with no pause in it is where discipline slips.
