October is the month the season stops easing in and starts stacking up. A short international stretch comes first, then four straight Premier League matchweeks with nothing in between. For anyone signing up to Bet9ja this month, the promotion code is YOHAIG.

Where the promotion code fits at registration

Bet9ja puts a promotion code box on the registration form, and it gets skipped more often than you would think. Put YOHAIG in the field and the account picks up the welcome offer, which runs to a maximum of ₦100,000 based on what you deposit first. It is a one-time box, because the code will not attach to an account that already exists.

Nothing is charged for the code. New customers only, and the bonus comes with wagering conditions, which is standard across the market. Check those terms before your first deposit, not after it clears.

Open an account using the code YOHAIG and claim up to ₦100,000 welcome bonus.

The Super Eagles close the international window

The Nations League plays two more rounds from the 1st to the 6th, and the clubs sit out until after that. Nigeria travel to the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium to face Russia in a friendly on Tuesday 6 October. No kick-off time was confirmed at the time of writing, so look it up before you build anything.

The club season returns on 10 October

The clubs are back from Saturday 10 October. Arsenal host Leeds United in the lunchtime slot, Manchester United meet Tottenham Hotspur that evening, and Liverpool against Manchester City follows at Anfield on the Sunday afternoon. The 17th and 18th give you Everton against Chelsea, Newcastle United versus Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest against Arsenal.

Friday 23 October opens the next round with Ipswich Town against Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea versus Tottenham Hotspur headlines the Saturday. The month closes on Saturday 31 October with Chelsea against Manchester United at lunchtime and Aston Villa hosting Fulham under the lights.

There is also the Manchester City case, with the club reportedly found guilty on nearly all of the 115 charges. The penalty had not been announced when this went up. Should a points deduction follow, the outright markets reprice immediately, so read the promo terms the news before backing anything long-term.

The clock change nobody plans for

British clocks go back on Sunday 25 October and Nigeria does not move. Up to Saturday the 24th, a kick-off listed in UK time is the same clock time in Lagos. From the 25th you add an hour, so a 15:00 English kick-off is 16:00 Nigerian time.

Practical notes for October

•

• Put the code in during sign-up, because it cannot be added later. It is a one-time field.

• Fix your October budget before the first matchweek lands. A month with no pause in it is where discipline slips.
