Former Super Eagles striker Benedict Akwuegbu is optimistic about his club, Ben Akwuegbu FC, securing a spot in the Nigeria National League NNL following their perfect start in the ongoing Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs in Jos.

The "Austria Bomber," who serves as the club’s President and main financier, has seen his team dominate the Jos Centre, winning their first two matches a 4–0 rout of Dream Big FC and a 2–0 win against Global Peace FC. Ben Akwuegbu FC currently top their group with six points.

Speaking from London, Akwuegbu praised the players’ performances but cautioned them against complacency. "It’s a good performance so far, but the journey is still way too long. If they keep their heads down and concentrate only on the next game, an NNL spot won’t be impossible to achieve," he said.

The team is led by Technical Adviser Joshua Zira, with former Nigeria international Sam Pam Jnr acting as Sporting Director. Ben Akwuegbu FC will face Mechibi United next as they aim to continue their dominant run.
